Debate. Discuss. Decide.
Promoting individual liberty, traditional values, and the rule of law at the University of Chicago.
One of two original chapters of the Federalist Society, the University of Chicago Federalist Society is a group of libertarians and conservatives interested in the current state of the legal order. Each year, we bring speakers to the Law School for lectures and debates in an effort to open and to balance the debate on legal issues.
Diverse Legal Perspectives.
The UChicago Federalist Society is known for our strong programming and for producing a large number of high-quality events each quarter. We host judges, scholars, and debates that highlight different views on current legal issues.
A Community for
Law School and Life.
From weekend brunches to theological debates, our members make friends for life. We also offer help with study tools and professional development.
“It is emphatically the duty of the Judicial Department to say what the law is.”
